A descriptive system as well as two systems which are a mixture of a figure based system (1-7 or 7-1) and a descriptive system are available. The main part uses a figure based system 1-7 described below.

The following abbreviations are used:

Grade of corner (describes mainly the angle of the corner) and direction

"O" for open is used sometimes to denote a somewhat faster corner than indicated. All numerical grades are given after direction whereas descriptive grades are given before. This gives a mixed syntax for figure based systems.
